Disaster Response & Humanitarian Assistance

At Holy Cross Social Service Society, we are committed to standing with vulnerable communities during times of crisis and disaster. Natural calamities, public health emergencies, and other humanitarian crises often have a devastating impact on Indigenous and marginalized families, disrupting livelihoods and threatening their health and well-being. Through timely relief, community support, and recovery initiatives, we strive to protect lives, restore dignity, and help communities recover and rebuild with resilience.

Our Initiatives

COVID-19 Emergency Relief

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Holy Cross Social Service Society responded promptly to support vulnerable families whose livelihoods were severely affected by lockdowns and movement restrictions. The organization distributed dry ration kits containing essential food items to economically disadvantaged households, ensuring that families had access to necessities during the crisis. In addition, awareness programs on COVID-19 prevention, personal hygiene, and safety measures were conducted to help communities protect themselves and reduce the spread of the virus.

Relief Support During Climate-Related Calamities

Holy Cross Social Service Society provides emergency relief and humanitarian assistance to communities affected by climate-related disasters, including cyclones, floods, heavy rains, and other natural calamities. Relief efforts include distributing essential food supplies, clothing, hygiene kits, and other emergency necessities to affected families. Working closely with local communities and government agencies, the organization also supports early recovery efforts, helping vulnerable households restore their livelihoods and strengthen their resilience to future disasters.
